James and Stephs Paris to Barcelona Bike Ride





This blog is the Journal of James and Stephanie's Bike Ride taking place between the 17th and 30th July 2010, an unsupported ride taking in 800 miles of road between Paris and Barcelona, with the addition of the stage 14 tour de france ascents of port de pailheres and/or Ax 3 Domaine... both category 1 climbs!

We are supporting the Starlight Foundation a very worthy charity that grants wishes for terminally ill children

Day 12 - Sant Julia Vilatorta

Strange suburb full of multi-million pound mansions!!.. Bit wierd really, not exactly a standard stop over town.

We cycles 69 miles today, the first 15 took 2 and a half hours as we climbed up to 1700 meters, we then had a 40 mile down hill stretch out of the foothills, and took us less than 2 hours!.. The last miles were a slog through Vic.. Looking forward to finishing tomorrow.. About 50 miles left

    hey guys,

    WOW you did it!!! muchos congrats getting through the pyrenees!!! was it as bad as you thought???? probably worse i am guessing. i have been watching some of the Athletics in Barcelona and they had a huge thunderstorm earlier today so hopefully that would have cleared the air for you tomorrow.

    Thought you were finishing on Saturday are you early??? you have beaten us too tapas which we have yet to have, we have a scheduled trip for tomorrow to marbella and Tapas is def on the menu followed by Flamengo on saturday as it is Scott B day. am sure you will get wrecked tomorrow when you have finished, ensure you have the biggest bottle of champers ever!!!!!!

    anyway will blog tomorrow for your final day. Good Luck guys we are so proud of you :)

    Well done guys!!!
    The boys have told their school friends all about you and you are now officially legends in their school!!!

    You're nearly there and we are so very, very proud of you both!!! Luke is so proud he doesn't want to do the London to Brighton bike ride with his dad, he wants to do it with you!!!
